Made this stunning necklace for Sheryl to match her dress she brought from Just Jeans. Using a combination of Miracle beads, crystals and lamp work beads I attempted to match the dress....Think I did well. She loves the necklace :D

It's alive

On friday my website went live

and all the work was well worth it.
Apart from changing the design, what felt like, 10 million times; I am happy with the final result. I already have a couple of members. woo hoo :)

Domain name

I have a domain name - www.pelima.co.nz
Fingers crossed I will be live next week.
I would have to say creating a website is such hard work, with taking photos, descriptions, pricing and then there is finding a name for the necklace. I think everyone will enjoy the website....I hope so :)

Auckland Holiday

It is amazing to think that we are half way through the year - where has the year gone. We, being my daughters and I enjoyed a relaxing holiday in Auckland that involved much shopping and of course 'Bead shopping'. Of course it goes without saying that I blew my budget but I did manage to obtain some true beauties. :) We also visited Kelly Tarltons and the Auckland Museum. The museum was absolutely amazing with 3 floors of so much information, history and general knowledge. Miss 9 wasn't feeling the best, so we only saw 2 floors. Next time I will go childless and wonder by myself all day :)

First Craft fair

Last weekend was my first experience of attending a craft fair. I sold a few pieces and received many compliments on my work. This was nice to hear compliments first hand. I was working on my first attempt at a sewn cuff bracelet. I have finally finished the bracelet and am now working on a pendant. I think this might be my first wedding piece....what do you think???

First beading challenge

I have joined my first beading challenge....*biting nails* The other ladies are very established and extremely talented so I am feeling very nervous but excited. I can't wait. At the moment I cam stalking my mail box :D awaiting their arrival.

The deal is I get sent some beads and I have until a date in July to create my masterpiece and upload to the blog.

Well after a slight change of idea, mums bracelet is finished. Gotta love jewellery design, if it looks wrong you can always change it. Stitched a lovely band for extra support. She loved it.

Mum's Mothers day bracelet

At the moment I am creating Mums mothers day bracelet...bit late I know but she arrives on Monday for a week with us. Its taken this long to think of what I could do ;) A few years ago she made pearl necklaces using pearl set in shells. Recently I found a fish tail design and decided to peyote stitch around it so its all protected and this will be the centre piece for the bracelet. I just need to find 5 beads that symbolise her 5 grandchildren, so far I have 2 :)

Created a website

Wow I have been busy. Still yet to do any study but I have managed to create my own website to help get my products out there :) http://pelima.vstore.ca Thanks to Amanda from Pallina Designs who recommended vstore.ca for website making.

It's a beautiful day in Gisborne and apparently the last for a few days :( So I should really go and hang out my washing and clean my house a bit in preparation for the rainy weather.

Still learning

Decided today to advance myself and leave the comforts of my four walls and gifts within family by putting my Jewellery creations out there. Forgive me in advance if I do something wrong or miss something out...maybe I need some 'L' plates. :)
